SSK Tibet Expedition Successfully Concludes | From Pure Heart to Summit Heights
Summer breezes carried a chill from the plateau.
From June to August, the SSK team traveled to Tibet in three groups,
embarking on this land of wonder.
As our wheels rolled along National Highway 318,
the altimeter kept climbing.
On this road to the clouds,
we experienced a feast for the soul and the eyes.
Part 01: Stunning Start – Chengdu to Lhasa
From Chengdu, it felt like opening a geography textbook:
Listening to Kangding Love Song in Kangding’s drifting clouds,
experiencing altitude sickness for the first time crossing Jianziwan Mountain,
checking in at Litang—the world’s highest city—
where Haizi Mountain’s ancient glaciers look alien.
Part 02: Awe of Nature’s Masterpiece
Lake Namtso’s turquoise waters mirrored the snow-capped peaks.
Ranwu Lake’s sky-blue reflections intoxicated us.
Every frame was a stunning painting.
In Nyingchi, we felt the charm of “Tibet’s Jiangnan.”
Mist over Lulang Forest resembled a fairyland.
Facing Mount Namjagbarwa,
we marveled at nature’s craftsmanship.
The Nujiang 72 Turns—wild curves drawn by the gods—
72 hairpin bends at 4,000m altitude,
carving breathtaking geometric beauty into cliffs.
Part 03: Lhasa Finale – Awe at Potala Palace
Standing at the foot of Potala Palace, we exclaimed: “We’ve really made it to Tibet!”
The sky was a perfect blue; white clouds floated freely.
At sunrise, the white walls and red palace shone gold—
this thousand-year-old fortress seemed to float above the mortal world.
The 1,300 steps lead not only to the 3,750m summit
but to a stillness of breath and heartbeat—faith’s peak.
At 3,650m in Lhasa, gilded rooftops shone; painted prayer flags spun gently.
Every Mani stone whispered millennia of devotion.
We crossed snow passes, grassland valleys,
laughed beneath every “must-drive-in-a-lifetime” sign,
and packed the plateau sunshine into our hearts.
On the roof of the world, we wish all our fans:
May life’s road turn smooth like the Nujiang 72 Turns,
be as colorful as Nyingchi’s peach blossoms,
and clear as Namjagbarwa’s skies.
Peace and blessings always!
(Together with teammates, we tied prayer flags with blessings for you!)
This isn’t the journey’s end.
We brought back:
Team unity like a Mani stone pile
Ideas fluttering like prayer flags
Brotherhood rich as Tibetan barley wine
Special thanks to:
Every turn of G318,
the epiphany from Mount Kailash,
and that more determined self in our photo gallery.
Thus concludes the SSK Tibet Expedition 2025!
Cheers & confetti!
On to the next journey—see you there!
